01. Why?
As technology advances, so does commercial greed. The software landscape is plagued by companies that feel entitled to harvest endless amounts of data for profit. Our data is not for sale—nor should it be. Why should multi-billion dollar corporations profit from selling our private information, while simultaneously charging us exorbitant monthly fees just to access basic features? Even worse, when these companies fail to sell your data, they often fail to protect it. Frequent security breaches leave consumers helpless, exposing sensitive information—from credit card details to home addresses—to malicious actors.
02. The Solution
We reached a breaking point. We decided that essential utilities simply shouldn’t require subscriptions or sensitive data collection. We founded A to Z Solutions (A2Z) with a singular purpose: to build apps for user benefit, not for profit. Our apps that require hosting, such as Ova, are fully funded internally by our team. We have absolutely no plans to sell data or hide features behind paywalls.
03. The Result
We created a world first: a period tracker that stores all data locally in a secure vault provided by your phone's manufacturer, rather than on our servers. This makes it one of the most secure storage solutions available. Any data passed through our relay server contains zero identifiable information. Furthermore, all transmitted data is encrypted using Signal’s X3DH protocol and is ephemeral; if a signal becomes stale (meaning you stop using the app), the data is automatically wiped from the relay server within the month. Best of all, every feature—from partner sync to exporting your health data—is free. Forever.
04. How is this funded?
We don’t rely on donations, we don’t sell personal data (we don’t even collect it), and we refuse to use predatory subscriptions. So, how do we survive? Through rigorous optimization. We have refined our architecture to the point where it requires, at most, two reads and one write per user. Because of this efficiency, our monthly relay costs are negligible, often remaining within standard free-tier limits.
